rabbitCommunity Easter Egg Hunt
Held at Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course 2 Saturdays before Easter

Sure to be a hit with all the children! The Medicine Valley golf team dyes eggs and helps hide them. They assist little ones with the hunt as needed. The Easter Bunny even makes an appearance to delight the children.

 

APRIL

Curtis CrossCurtis Easter Pageant
Held on Palm Sunday, April 9 @ 3:00 PM at the Curtis High School Gymnasium

A Curtis community member quotes, "The pageant is the Curtis area's gift to Nebraska because, without Easter, Christmas would be just another day." The first community Easter Pageant was held April 4, 1958. It has evolved to the "Living Pictures" format with narration to establish the mood and background of each scene and its accompanying community choir. The pageant includes 17 scenes of familiar events, famous paintings, and statuary. This touching 3-dimensional living picture pageant presentation includes authentic-type costumes, dramatic lighting, motionless poises by a 65-member cast (including children) and a 50-member choir.

A community picnic put on by the Chamber of Commerce to honor all the Curtis EMT's and firemen.

2 person golf tournament put on by the Chamber held at Arrowhead Meadows Golf Course.

PEPPERFarmers Market
Starts the 4th Thursday in July and runs through the last Thursday in September.

Held at the corner of Main St .& Hwy 23 at the Medicine Valley EDC parking lot. Beginning at 5:00 pm.

AUGUST

“Trails of Treasures” 46 mile Garage Sale
Held August 5th in six communities along Highway 23 from Wellfleet to Eustis

This is a brand new event and is sure to be a hit with everyone that attends. A bargain hunters dreams come true—miles of garage sales in one day! Pick up a carload of friends and get your map in each town. Watch for balloons that will mark all the sale sites. Be sure to try the great food establishments and shopping in the local stores.

 

  SEPTEMBER

Held the September 15, 16, 17, 2006, at the city park and Mill Park . View Fall Festival Schedule.

This two-day fun filled and action packed event is guaranteed to please the attendees. Activities include a parade, games at the park, free BBQ, street dance and a golf tournament to name a few.

 

  OCTOBER

pumpkinHalloween Parade
Held on Halloween Day, beginning at Sunset Haven, ending at the Legion Hall

The costumed youth, visit at Sunset Haven, Hillside Estates, Senior Living Choices, and downtown businesses. The evening activity ends at the Legion Hall where a hot dog feed is held for all those attending.

 

  DECEMBER

Hometown Christmas will be Thursday, December 8th from 4:00-8:00pm. Here are some of the activities planned:

-Santa & Mrs. Santa will be at the park after the movie until 8:00 to see kids, hand out candy sacks and take photos(photos will be offered or you can take your own)
-Hot cocoa, popcorn and roasted marshmellows at the park.
-M.V. High School choir and carolers in the gazebo from 4:00-8:00.
-Sleigh/Hayrack rides through town to tour the decorated houses.
Free movie (Spongebob Squarepants) at 4:00 for the kids.
-Soup Supper at the Legion Hall from 5:00-7:00 - free will donation - fund raiser for Junior Class
-Local craft show at the mall from 4:00-8:00.

-Vote on your favorite decorated house - Voting starts Monday, December 5th and will continue to____ There will be a box at the mall for votes and a box at the park Thursday from 4-8pm.
-December 5th -8th - Silent Auction of Christmas items at the mall.

There will also be lots of businesses holding open houses during this time also.
